چکیده

This report describes my method of increasing the capacity of any wireless network through the application of MIMO technology. The Shannon capacity of wireless networks has been calculated in different instances by MATLAB. Using Simulink, the various parameters of a wireless Rayleigh Multipath fading channel are calculated. This is done in order to experimentally prove the advantages of a MIMO system in any wireless system. Also to find the right balance before which adding more antennas will not a make a difference Refer

Energy Efficiency of MIMO systems

A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system consists of multiple antennas at the receiver and transmitter. These multiple antennas can be used to improve the performance of the system through spatial diversity or increase the data rates by spatial multiplexing. One can also use some of the antennas for diversity and some for spatial multiplexing. The number used for diversity and spatial mul...

Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Analysis for Golden Coded MIMO Systems

The combination of the orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technique and the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) architecture has emerged as a promising candidate for future wireless communications. The Space-time block coding (STBC) technique permits to fully take advantage of MIMO-OFDM systems and to effectively improve the channel capacity and the spatial diversity. The Golde...

On the scheduling, multiplexing and diversity trade-off in MIMO ad hoc networks: A unified framework

In this paper we study the fundamental scheduling, multiplexing and diversity trade-off in MIMO ad hoc networks. In particular, we propose a unified framework for the schedulingmultiplexing and scheduling-diversity sub-problems that constitutes a major step towards solving the overall problem. The two sub-problems are motivated by a fundamental trade-off between scheduling full multiplexing (di...

Diplomarbeit MIMO Receivers Using Soft Information

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless systems that use multiple transmit and receive antennas allow a gain in reliability (diversity gain) and capacity (multiplexing gain). Unfortunately, these advantages come at the cost of higher computational complexity, particularly when using soft detection (SD). SD features improved performance compared to hard detection and is a prerequisite for...

Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff in MIMO Systems

It is well known that there exists a tradeoff between the diversity gain and the multiplexing gain achievable by a particular MIMO coding scheme. In this report we first look at the optimal trade-off in the infinite signal-to-noise (SNR) regime of both Rayleigh independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) channels and a more general MIMO channel model. We then look at the tradeoff of both S...

Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff for Full-Duplex Relay Networks

Co-operative communication with relay assistance helps in enhancing the capacity of point to point links. The capacity of relay networks has been known to be upper bounded by the cut-set bound. Recently, the authors of [1] showed that it is possible to achieve the upper bound up to a constant additive gap, independent of the channel parameters. Presence of multiple relays provides multiple path...
